We are in Danger!

Jewish people everywhere are very distressed these days. Though the war in Israel is one significant reason for this distress, it is not the only concern we bear. Our very existence is once again being threatened. Shortly after the war began, Islamists around the world began calling for Jewish pogroms. The call to exterminate us is getting louder by the day in the Middle East and beyond.

Social media is full of fake news about evil Israelis and Jews, fueling increasing antisemitism. Today’s anti-Zionism has triggered fresh waves of antisemitism, leading to the rapid increase of attacks on the Jewish community since October 7th. Antisemitism has reached every level of society. At anti-Zionist, antisemitic rallies, we now see right-wing neo-Nazis and radical leftists united and marching side by side in harmony. They share a common enemy: Israel and the Jews. It is ironic that neo-Nazis have recently laid aside their old rants against Muslims and immigrants from the Middle East. Now they join these Muslims in protests against Jews.

Those of us living in the Diaspora believed until recently that if we were in danger, we could emigrate to Israel for safety. However, in the wake of October 7th, many Jewish people outside of Israel now feel like they are trapped where they are. For those who think that pro-Hamas sentiments are merely words, we must remember that throughout our history, we know that hateful words can be quickly turned into murderous action. We have reasons to worry. We are in danger!

The Israel-Hamas War has reached around the world, as it unfolds on social media, at street rallies, and in schools and homes. It is a physical war and it is a spiritual war. The God of Israel, the only true God, loves Jewish people and is very protective of them. Harming Jewish people causes God pain. Antisemitism is an anti-God attitude. It is dangerous for Jewish people, and it also dangerous for antisemites. It has the potential to bring destruction to all.

Whether you are Jewish or Gentile, a Messianic believer or a Christian, now is the time to step into the spiritual battle and stand up for the Jewish people before it is too late. Pray for peace in the Middle East, and for the protection and salvation of Jewish people worldwide. In addition, fight antisemitism with your words and with your actions. Now is the time to stand for God and for the Jewish people!
