High Holidays: The Challenge and Opportunities for Spiritual Renewal for Jewish Disciples of Jesus

In this Yachad BeYeshua webinar we depart from our series on great figures in the modern history of Jewish disciples of Yeshua. Instead, we focus upon the High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, in which Jews around the world seek forgiveness and spiritual renewal.

Unlike Passover/Easter and Shavuot/Pentecost, there are no traditional Christian holidays at this season corresponding to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. That both raises questions and creates opportunities.

What is the significance of these holidays in Jewish tradition? How should Jewish disciples of Yeshua today, from diverse communities, approach this season? How can gentile disciples of Jesus best honor the Jewish people and its tradition during this time?

This public webinar is led by the Theological Commission of Yachad BeYeshua.  Vered Hillel--an Israeli scholar and member of Yachad BeYeshua--explains how the wider Jewish world approaches this season. We also hear from three members of Yachad BeYeshua, all from different communal contexts, who share what they have learned about observing these holidays as Jewish disciples of Yeshua.
